THE WRIGGLY TIN

The Wriggly Tin is a design and self build projcet situation near Glastonbury in rural Somerset.  The brief was to design a new home that embraces a simple low impact way of living for my mum and her partner.  The project has been guided by an agenda to build locally and sustainably to minimise the building's embodied and operational carbon emissions.  The structure is built entirely from timber, using a twin-stud frame and structural glue-lam. The walls and roof are insulated with recycled warm-cell newspaper and the exterior of the building is clad in local larch timber and purbeck dry stone.
